NIKKI SIXX Slams KIRK CAMERON Over 'Gay-Bashing' Comments

March 5, 2012

MÖTLEY CRÜE bassist Nikki Sixx has slammed actor Kirk Cameron as "asshole of the week" after the former "Growing Pains" star called homosexuality "unnatural" and "detrimental."

Cameron, who is an evangelical Christian, spoke out against homosexuality during an interview on CNN's "Piers Morgan Tonight" on Friday, March 2 (see video below).

When host Piers Morgan asked the actor if he was against gay marriage, Cameron replied, "Marriage is almost as old as dirt, and it was defined in the garden between Adam and Eve. One man, one woman for life 'till death do you part. So do I support the idea of gay marriage? No, I don't."

Cameron then responded to further questions from Piers, telling Morgan, "I think that [homosexuality], it's, it's unnatural. I think that it's, it's detrimental, and ultimately destructive to so many of the foundations of civilization."

In the days since the interview, a number of other celebrities have shared their own take on the topic of homosexuality and gay marriage.

In a series of tweets on Sunday, Sixx added his two cents to the debate, writing, "Kirk Cameron, asshole of the week. I get the 'Freedom of speech' tweets from you guys… I just have a really hard time excepting [sic] people bashing gay marriage. Love Is Love."
